From Tom Watson (no not the UK blogger), comes a dream ticket - Kerry/McCain. John McCain is the only Republican i've ever wanted to vote for President. If he would join Kerry on the ticket, that would be really be something.

I suspect that one of the reasons you like Kerry/McCain is that you believe in free trade and the freedom to marry who you choose. The parties are trapped by their bases and missing what I think is now a majority in the middle. Clinton played this well by bringing fiscal discipline and free trade to the Democrats. This election so far does not look promising. I wonder when a third party will emerge to represent the rest of us.

An enticing prospect, but it'll never happen. He's an official member of the Bush campaign. Not sure how they'd spin that.
And while I too admire McCain, he has a dark side, particularly with respect to foreign policy, where he's aligned himself firmly with the neocons.

Keep in mind that McCain has a deep hatred for Bush based on attacks on his sanity and his family's ethnic makeup during the infamous SC primary in '00.
Not sure he'd do this, but ifhe ever had the chance to pull the trigger on GWB, he squeeze it.

That sounds like a good match. I'd vote for it, but I'm already voting Kerry, so that doesn't mean too much.
What's up with all this McCain crap and baseball, though? I mean, dude, we've got much bigger fish to fry and scarier things to worry about. Like, say, Islamic terrorists with nuclear-capable sponsor states and Janet Jackson's nipple!
