Utterly Sure (Continued)
I don't normally get the desire to respond to the comments i don't agree with on my blog. I figure that people are allowed to express their opinion as much as i am. An open exchange of ideas and thoughts is what blogging is all about.
But today, i am moved to respond to something i think is important in the upcoming election.
Hmmm...lessee...a president who stands by his words and convictions or one who can't make up his mind.
Pretty tough decision this November.
I don't think its a tough decision. I'll take the thoughtful considerate decision maker over the hasty bull headed one every time. Recognizing the other side's perspective and keeping an open mind is something i really appreciate in a leader. I recognize this is a matter of taste and that many americans prefer the illustion of strength that Bush exudes. But not me.

I have to agree w/Fred on this one. I wrote a longer piece on Bush's "foolish consistency" here:

LOL...Bush, the SUV of Presidents. Feels solid, secure, and comfortable, but can't stop short or make a sharp turn, threatens to crush everything in its path, and when overstressed, the tires fall off and it rolls over.
Stop the ride, we want to get off.

The only Fool on this blog is Fred himself.
First he flirts with a poor imitation of Al Haig, General something???
And now this Kerry character?
Give me a break, already!!!
Fred, politics is not your forte.
Bush v. Kerry will be a landslide. Kerry was the Dems 'none of the above' option.
The guy is a total empty suit, lots of verbage == lots of bullshit.
Post election, Kerry will rank right up there with Mondale and Dukasis(sp?).
Seriously man, have you seen Kerry in person? He makes Gore look natural.
Game OVER.
Bush LANDSLIDE.
PS. What is Kerry's foreign policy again? Oh yeah partnering with the French and Russian crooked bastards that were robing the UN's Oil for Food program BLIND!!!
ROTFLMAO!!!
PSS. Fred talk about technology, not politics. You're just not qualified for the latter.

Fred,
It seems to me that you think I am blindly supporting the president. Well, if you are, you're mistaken. I just believe, as many Americans do, that a president should weigh all sides of an issue before making a decision. I also firmly believe that once the decision is made that the president be resolute in that decision.
If you believe that Mr. Kerry has those types of convictions then I guess you're not 'visiting' any sites other than the candidates own site. Perhaps you are just being selective in your mind-set or just a huge John Kerry fan. Fair enough.
I, for one, am not going to side with Charlie's post that you're not qualified to talk politics. You are. I am. He is. We all are. That's what free speech is about. I do agree with Charlie in that I believe that Mr. Kerry will pander to the UN (read: Russia and France).
I will not be voting for Mr. Kerry this November as he is NOT a man to stand by his convictions.

Just what are George W. Bush's convictons? I for one, have never heard him speak of something I'd call a conviction - evil doers are bad, the Lord guides me - those are not convictions. He has none. He IS the empty suit, as history will record. Is Kerry a great candidate - no, clearly. A smarter, better man? Hell yeah.

Actually, I listened intently to the speech - hence, my post above.

Fred,
I think you are mistaking style for substance with Kerry and substance for style with Bush. And it appears from you comments in this blog that you are utterly sure that Bush is not the right choice. Furthermore, while stating that you prefer thougtful consideration of the other side's perspective, it is hard to find evidence of that in your statements herein on Presidential performance and politics. Maybe you keep those thoughts to yourself?

Fred,
I, for one, appreciate the variety of topics you discuss and the fact that you not only take a stand but also welcome opposing viewpoints. Thanks for an enjoyable blog. BZ
