The Founding Fathers

It's July 4th, our nations birthday. I love America even though I am not into nationalism.

I am into the founding fathers of our country. I am in the process of reading Ron Chernow's great book on Alexander Hamilton and Walter Isaacson's biography of Ben Franklin.

It will take me a long time to get through these books just as it did with books I've read in the past on Jefferson and Adams. I read a chapter or two, then put them down, then pick them up again in a month or two.

Regardless of how long it will take me to read these books, I feel an incredible amount of gratitude to these guys and their colleagues who put in place the American form of democracy and capitalism that has taken this country so far so fast. They were the greatest generation in my mind. The country was so much smaller then and we are incredibly lucky to have so many great minds owned by such great men at the exact time we needed them.

So on this birthday of America, I salute the founding fathers of our country.

Iam Priyanka Madaan, a student of IIT Madras(Hope u have heard the name), Chennai, India . Went

through ur blogs.. they are quite interesting and i liked the links too.

Sir iam doing a project on Venture Capital Funding. Was going through the various criterias they

follow while cosidering a company for investment. I found lots of material on the factors taken

into account while funding a start-up by the VC's but.... the factors or conditions kept in the

mind by these VC's while making strategic decision such as outsourcing the work of these

startups to other companies was missing.

That is i wanted to know what are the factors which are kept in mind by a venture capitalist

before making a outsorcing decision to a company. With your experience of 17 years in this field

i wont get a better person answer this question. There is no doubt that a VC plays a major role

in the operations of the firm it invests in...

Can i know what conditions do you look for in a firm to whom you can give business..

Iam an MBA trainee. Your help would play a major role in the completion of my project. I would

be really greateful if you could help me in this regard.
