My 50 Favorite Albums (continued)
I was getting dressed yesterday morning and I heard Emily strumming her guitar.
The tune was so familiar and I found myself singing along:
Ziggy played guitar, jammin' good with Weird and Gilly,
The spiders from Mars, he played it left hand
But made it too far
Became the special man, then we were Ziggy's band
I went downstairs and peaked my head into Emily's room and she looked up and said, "I just love the sound of this song".
Well I do too Emily.
It's been hanging out on my short list for the past month and so now its time to put David Bowie's greatest record onto my Top 50.
I love Alladin Sane and Hunky Dory too, and who knows they might make it onto the list as well, but I never tire of listening to Ziggy.

FYI - A little known fact, Rick Wakeman of Yes fame plays keyboards on the Ziggy Stardust album.

If you haven't listened to Seu Jorge's Brazilian acoustic covers of several Bowie songs, you should definitely check them out. They're on the Life Aquatic soundtrack.

Your kids and Ted's roommate are validating exactly how great these "my Dad's era" acts were. A true litmus test of musical greatness is its ability to stand the test of time and continue to inspire future generations. The Ziggy album is certainly a worthy example. Another solid pick for the VC's top 50.
While I totally deeked this tune at your bro's labor day bash, I've since worked out the bugs and am prepared to jam with Weird, Gilly, Emily, and Jason on this one if the opportunity ever presents itself...

Yes!
I think I was in high school when this came out, and was put off by the makeup and costumes. I rediscovered it a couple years later and it's been one of my favorites ever since.
