I Love Neil Young

Hpim2146Ted, aka Jackson, got me this cool "I love Neil Young" T-shirt for Christmas this past year.

I wore it a few times and then Josh decided he liked the shirt and grabed it from me.

That's cool with me because I love the fact that Josh loves Neil Young.

Now for the straight dope on the "I LOVE NEIL YOUG" shirt. It wasn't my idea. Kory Smith, former bandmate and roomate, pointed out to me that if you add (I recomend a Sharpie) "eil" afer the N and "oung" after the Y, then you got yourself a nifty Neil Young shirt for the price of an I Love New York shirt (and a Sharpie). All I did was put into practice. Fred, I'll make you another, mine is barely legible at this point, so I guess I'm taking orders.

I want to wish Neil a speedy recovery from his surgery. We love Neil and his music. I could not find a way to contact him but this site gives us hope! Please pass along our wishes to Neil,..Rock on!!!

Neil young rox our world and he needs to get better

14 years ago neil and his family stayed at a resort cabin in evergreen colorado, that i was managing at the time, while his son ben went to summer camp... his daughter amber fell in love with two german shepard puppies i had so we gave her the pups.. they named them little bear and evergreen. Ive lost their address and phone number long ago.. im trying to find a way to contact them to ask a favor in return for those puppies.. my daughter met a friend at epilepsy youth camp that is graduating from high school... he plays a mean guitar and loves neil young.. wed like to give this boy something special.. an autographed guitar strap or something like that.. if anyone knows a way to contact neil.. his manager.. record label .. whatever so i can ask this small favor it would be greatly appreciated.. thank you, julee

I grew up on Neil. I would love an address where I could contact him, though I know he is somewhat of a recluse. I guess this is a shot in the dark . . . I live in Ontario -Mississauga - OUCH!! the shame of Ontario, I guess, for being so suburban. But honestly, the memories of my childhood, which were very difficult with a bipolar- mother, (cancer patient, too) that is now stricken with Parkinson's disease are sprinkled with Neil. His words, his hope. My dad was a die-hard fan. When we were children, my mother was always complaining about his "shakey voice" - many dinners in suburbia were tempered by his nasal cry. Even now, as a young woman, as I watch myself become overcome by my father's alcoholism, I hear the remnants of 'Fuckin' Up' resound through my bedroom. (He knows, poor soul.) And I am thankful for the lonely Toronto musician who at least gave me some hope. I wish I could tell Neil how I feel.

If you're out there...Neil. I have my demo cd just about finished. I can only afford a $300.00 fostex recorder but the cd is sounding really good! The songs are all my originals. It has been my only dream and desire to perform at your benefit for the Bridge School since I attended the 1989 show. I contacted Vapor and they said I have to be invited. Will you listen to my CD and invite me for next year? I'll send it to Vapor pretty soon. "Sitting Bull" (the song) is almost finished. I'm glad you're OK. I hope you read this! Thanks, JeNeal

Neil Young I think your the greatest i would love to meet you or see you in concert one day that is my dream i listen to your music all the time, but i love when i am up north listening to some of that country and rock music i feel so alive, then going down to the dock and watching the sunset as the nice red sun goes down by the tree line with the sounds of the train in the background then i lay my back down on the dock and watch them stars, sometimes the norther lights, with loons makeing there sounds. you may have heard of this place its called Temagami.i love when the full moon is right beside the tall tower at night just thinking about noting. I play the song Are you ready for the country on the drive up, i could spend all day from the crack of dawn in a canoe paddeling on lake where no one has been before. your so in touch with nature when your in northen Ontario, on that canoe when that sun is just about gone, and the sky is a purple and a light red the water is like glass, i just close my eyes and think how could anyone hate this place?. i guess you could call that my little song it would be cool if you worte something like that you can even have it if you want, put it on your next CD. please email back tell me how you like this little song i made it up as i went alone so tell me if you like it. i am going there in a week cant wait. write me back tell me about my song, first song i have ever wrote. take it easy i will do the same ill get some really cool picture and try to snd them to you. KEEP ON ROCKING

I just read about Neil Young's upcoming fundraiser for his special school in Mountain View, California, and since he does have a home here on the Big Island of Hawaii I was wondering why he doesn't donate his time and/or lend his name to sponsor any fundraisers here. There are so many problems on the Big Island and he could be a big help in so many ways.....Neil, are you listening?

hey...my name is Ryan MacDonald and I live in Pickering, Ontario.....literally two seconds from where Neil grew up.....He has inspiried me in all aspects of life....especiallly musically.....however this town in north ontario is now being threatened by the governments plan for an international airport over neils old property and right beside me......id like to organize a protest...hopefully even a concert for awareness....i dont expect neil to be there...however some words would further the cause......thanks...hopefully he sees all these posting and how much he has touched everyone

who are we all trying to kid? Neil dosen't see any of this. hahahahahahha

Did anyone ever find out Neil Young's address? Or, how I can contact him? I would love to get him to sign a CD for my boyfriend's birthday that is coming up soon!

If anyone has any information, on how I can make this happen, I would be forever thankful.

we all only wish... Enjoy the music he has made for what it is. He has his own life and that is understandable and respectable. That would be awesome to meet him, yes, but be grateful we have his music to share with the generations to come.
Peace, Tim

My girlfriend, Cindy was a neighbor of Neil Young's mother in FLA the late 70s. Neil, of course would drop in and stay with his mom, whom he loved very much.

Cindy said that Neil was always a gentleman and was nice to her, even when she was a bit of a brat to him. I think he was a little impressed that she was unimpressed by his stardom.

He once told her, in regard to songwriting, that it was important to 'write from the heart'.

She would sometimes go accompany the youngs on a chartered boat . Neil would usually bring his guitar and harmonica and play the blues and his own tunes. I was shocked when I saw the snapshots of one of the cruises.

He once joined her at the club where she waitressed. The staff was agog that she was in his company. A friend walked up to their table and asked, "Are the two of you dating?'

'What? THIS mutt?', she replied. Neil responded with his typical inward sort of chuckle. She can still imitate it.

To this day, Cindy is unphased by her association with someone whom many feel to be a rock guru. I urge that one day she'll contact Neil and say hello after all these years.

Bill

Anyone with contacts to Neil Young, would you kindly relay this message to him. "Mr. Young would you mind asking if you could be the one to inducted Lynyrd Skynyrd into the hall of fame. It would be a great honor for them, for us fans, and for all those who think you and the boys of "Jax" are enemies. Thank You."

My heart goes out to Neil and Peg Young for all they have gone through. I just learned of his surgery recently, when the exact same thing happened to me. I have been to alot of concerts of his, and even after one in Ohio, my brother and myself bought and took up to them at a table at the Sheriton a bud beer. I had a surgery on Jan 4, Feb 14, 2006, and have one more in Mar. They are for coiling, like he had done to him also. I know what he went through, personally. Good luck, Neil and Peg! Thank you so much for years of beautiful music.

you cunts love neil, ithink you should all fuck off and leave me to rot you cunts,

Kathleen, You have a durty mouth, you`r Mother should wash it with soap. I like Neil my self, I have all his c.d`s.and d.v.d`s.and several of books on him.I`d like to meet him but what are my chances?
I hope he comes to milwaukee, I`ll be there. Why should he read some of the junk here, he has a life to live. Some spoil it for other`s, but we can still HOPE to meet Neil Young. My Love and Happines to him and his Family. Do you`r own thing Neil. Joan.

Ok I am also looking for mr. young's address. i have a unique art project I would love to get off the ground. It requires some funding... I think Neil, you would be interested in this one... if so let me know and email me... I will fill you in on the details... thanks... joan of art in cleveland, ohio...

Dear Neil Young (if you possibly get to read this),
I'm a Long time fan who respected and loved you for over 20 years. Unfortunately, I won't be buying any more of your music and will be throwing my concert T in the trash. With your new childish album bashing the President and the war I've completely changed my attitude towards you. I won't be listening to any more of your f^**ng out of key singing and retarded guitar solos.. Go Back To F(^*ng Canada and bash your "own" Govt. you piece of Shit..
No Regards,
Fan No More

i thought i was going to dig neil's music until the end. i guess i was wrong. i can understand hating war and all of that. personally, i support the war and i think it is the right thing to do.

but knocking bush even though he's done such a great job defending the USA really put neil in the same tub of shit with the dixie chicks and barbara streisand.

joining the chorus of jerks who are willing to risk stunting the optimism of our soldiers and citizens is more than i can stomach.

encouraging combative terrorists to keep on keepin' on because the american political scene is so screwed up by all of the dumb assed comments of michael moore and al gore.

way to go neil. you frikkin ASSHOLE.

i'm trashing all of your crap and i'll never spend another dime on your sorry art again. thanks a lot for 28 years of nothing!

Fred,

Perhaps I am having an altered reality moment, but comments like this:

but knocking bush even though he's done such a great job defending the USA really put neil in the same tub of shit with the dixie chicks and barbara streisand

and;

joining the chorus of jerks who are willing to risk stunting the optimism of our soldiers and citizens is more than i can stomach.

I honestly believe that you have be be an acrobat to twist reality this much. Just astonishing. Optimistic? Huh? Encouraging terrorists? You are kidding, right? As if the hornets nest of Iraq isn't a fertile recruiting ground. Oh yeah, we are fighting them there so we don't have to fight them here. Totally bizarre logic!

I too love Neil and I appreciate the fact that I don't always agree with him politically. That is what life should be about. When you agree with everything someone else believes you fail to be your own person. Question... think and decide for yourself.

iraq is coming along rather nicely considering the magnitude of the task at hand. it is important to remove people like saddam hussein from power. it should have been done long ago.

on many ocassions, america kills more terrorists in a single battle than all of the soldiers lost in gulf war I, afghanistan and gulf war II combined. to this day, more people were lost on 911 than have been lost in the war for iraq.

the last successful attack on american soil was 911. we've killed or captured thousands of terrorists. we've lost relatively few people in the process of acheiving those things. so yes, bush has down a superb job of defending the USA.

when was the last time neil sang for any soldiers? when was the last time neil young showed up for a passivist pep rally? neil young is milking the protest cow for relevancy.

neil, you're fired!

> to this day, more people were lost on 911
> than have been lost in the war for iraq.

Errr.... you're off by an order of magnitude:

http://www.iraqbodycount.net/

i'm talking about americans. does that help clear things up for you? it's all so terribly confusing, i know.
