More Cowbell

CowbellbigPeople talk about memes and I really don't know what that word means.

But if there is a meme that I keep bumping into these days, its More Cowbell.

Inspired by the great Blue Oyster Cult song, Don't Fear The Reaper, Christoper Walken, Will Ferrell, Jimmy Fallon, and a host of other Saturday Night Live regulars came up with the greatest skit in the modern history of Saturday Night Live.  If you haven't seen this skit, you gotta click on the link and check it out.

Wilco's been covering the song for months, there's a great music blog called More Cowbell, and I got myself and a bunch of friends this great More Cowbell shirt at Busted Tees.

I got a fever and the only prescription is More Cowbell!

The shirt rocks! I'm making sure that there's cowbell on all the songs on my new record called More Cowbell...

I hadn't seen that in years, only been laughing at references to it, and now I'm rolling on the floor once again. Brilliant!

The More Cowbell t-shirt from Busted Tees was one of my first Wist links. You are so right about the skit. Just thinking about it makes me laugh. Didn't know about the Wilco cover or blog, but I'm checking both out now.

Bill Simmons, aka the "Sports Guy," fka the "Boston Sports Guy," writes a series of hilarious sports columns for ESPN.com's Page Two. One of them is called "More Cowbell."

Yep. Saw Wilco's cover New Year's Eve. As soon as I heard it starting I instinctively said, "More Cowbell". Unfortunately the wasted guy behind a friend couldn't let it go and kept saying it throughout the song. I really didn't have to hear it, but he said it was quite annoying.

love the cowbell....
be the cowbell...
