MP3 of the Week
My friend Cliff turned us onto a bunch of new music last week.
My favorite so far of his recommendations is Josh Rouse.
He's a singer songwriter working out of Nashville but he's got a very midwest sound.
Josh Rouse has got a new record out called, suprisingly, Nashville.
It's been in heavy rotation for the past week and so I am going to make the first song on the record, called It's The Nightime, my MP3 of the Week.
I hope you like it.

Good call on Josh Rouse. Checked out Clap your hands say yeah, yet? http://clapyourhandssayyeah.com/ you'll love it.

Josh Rouse has been a favorite of mine for a while. His best album is Under the Cold Blue Stars (I think). Though his first two Dressed Up Like Nebraska and Home run close seconds.
You might also enjoy Kevin Tihista's Red Terror or Even Johansen. I discovered all of these guys around the same time and they have a similar sound, so they go together in my head.
Oh, and I second the Clap Your Hands Say Yeah recommendation. Just got that record yesterday and it rocks! Doesn't sound anything like Josh Rouse, but hey, whatever.

First saw Josh Rouse in Austin opening for Son Volt. Great singer songwriter. He also makes regular tour stops here in NY and I'd recommend checking him out, especially if he's doing an acoustic set.
I'd also check out Uncle Tupelo and Son Volt if you aren't already a fan. Actually somewhat different musically but because I've seen them tour together they are always joined in my mind.
