O'Connor Resigns
The swing vote on the court on so many issues is resigning.
Now the fun begins.
This is going to be a very nasty political summer.

That news makes me feel old more than anything else. My favorite SDO'C moment was when John Riggins got drunk at some Reagan bash and was overheard to have said to the Justice, "Lighten up Sandy baby"

To Jackson's point of 'feeling old', here's something to kick around: I just got an email that, while speculative, isn't unlikely.
"The crazy right will now have a 5-4 majority, and if Ginsburg retires (or dies) in the next three years as expected, it will go to 6-3. Worse yet, Stevens may also expire in the next three years, and then we’ll have a 7-2 right wing majority Supreme Court, likely with Scalia as the Chief Justice."

...or, maybe the President will do what Clinton did, what Reagan did, and find someone who will not necessarily make EVERYONE happy, but make enough in the senate pass the nom easily.
I know, I know, your spoiling for a fight, but isn't that exactly what MSM is salivating for? Why be a lemming about it and lets wait and see who the White House picks before applying war paint to faces.
