Jerry Colonna, who has always had my back, pointed me to this blog post today.
Does it look familiar? Did you by chance see it here?
This is pretty uncool if you ask me.
I don't have any issue with people taking content off my blog and putting it on theirs if there is attribution and a link.
Hell, I did that with Tim Oren's blog this morning.
But this is really bad behavior. I just called the guy whose name is on the blog post but he hung up on me.
Hmm.

Reminds me of the story about my brother in law when he handed in an essay to a high school teacher that someone else wrote........didn't even bother to change the name.

All of the posts on that blog appear to have been lifted from elsewhere. For example, the "Om Malik going to acquire telco" post is from here:

Although it doesn't look as blatent as some I've seen, most of these guys scrape RSS feeds and create phony blogs explicitly to make money on AdSense. Your best bet is to report it to Google, potentially using a DMCA complaint.

Ah, clicking on his links now reveals that things appear to have been pulled as I get this: "Access to the weblog you have requested has been suspended".
Attribution is important in every field. Some are more tolerant of it than others, but in my business, failure to attribute sources can end careers.

2 things to note:
1. the site has been pulled down; the least the proprietor could have done was apologize...I find the after-effect even more insidious than the original deed...
2. more importantly, failing to attribute quotes inside the blogosphere is too common.
Besides coaxing people to use their good sense, there is little that can be done about it.
Maybe someone should come up with a blog police company, 91l blog. BlogCracker. BlogSmack.com....

Good heads up Fred...and Thanks to Ken Norton above for pointing out that this guy filched a post or two from my site as well.
It almost looks like its automated. For instance, the headline he put on my post "Om Malik to acquire Teleo" makes no sense.
I wonder how prevalent this sort of thing is out there.

I noticed that multi-blogging software owned and managed by me (Blog-zilla) was mentioned on your blog (in a comment). I'll take the opportunity to clear up some erroneous statements based on rumors and misinformation.
