MP3 of the Week
We've been listening to a lot of new music lately.
One of our favorites this month is Mike Doughty.
We saw him live at Stephen Talkhouse with Jackson and D and a couple friends.
Since then, we've had his new excellent record, Haughty Melodic, on serious heavy rotation.
One of the best songs on Haughty Melodic is called Grey Ghost and its my MP3 of the Week.

Love the music comments here since I doubt you're getting payola.
Judging by your list, give Josh Ritter "4 Songs Live" a try. It's an LP...which will leave you wishing for more. I think. No payola coming my way either.

We have some great Mike Doughty mp3s on our blog. He's amazing, but at times I feel like only three people know who he is.
Here's a post with his cover of Neutral Milk Hotel's King of Carrot Flowers and one with him doing St. Louise is Listening, an old Soul Coughing song, solo.
He's taking up about 25% of my top 25 songs on iTunes. Everyone should at least give him a try.

Need to investigate this tune and artist a little. Can't be coincidence that the two locations he mentions are from our collective "hometown"...
Great song!!

Just played this tune for my brother and father. My dad says he remember's a Bob Doughty in the history dept. at USMA and my bro says his old girlfriend's brother hung out with a Mike Doughty, so there's a good chance this guy is one in the same.
More to come...
