Positively 10th Street

Our new weekly podcast is up.

We tried something new this week.

We went with two microphones, one for The Gotham Gal and one for me.

Somehow we didn't get the dials right because The Gotham Gal still sounds much louder than me.

But we'll get that fixed next week.

Topics of conversation this week include getting our kids back from summer camp, a couple movie reviews, and cooking.

Song List:
Magnetic Fields - I Think I Need A New Heart
Cake - The Guitar Man
Goldspot - Friday
The Concretes - Seems Fine Shuffle
Death Cab for Cutie - Marching Bands of Manhattan

Stephen Merritt is a genius. " I Think I Need A New Heart" is also on the "Pieces Of April" soundtrack. 69 Love Songs is one of my favorite Magnetic Fields records, particularly disc 1 of the set. "The Book Of Love" is my personal favorite song on that record and one of my favorites ever. In some very strange ways, Stephen Merritt reminds me of Jonathan Richman. (odd?)

I saw Cake play a show at the 9:30 Club in DC once. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen, though I'm not a big fan of their past two records.

Goldspot is interesting. I'll need to check them out. "Goldspot" is a reference to a very popular Indian softdrink.

And by the way, you said my name right.

Really like the sound of the new Dead Cab album, especially last week's number. You were right about the Summerstage date. Have a great night tomorrow night!
Also really miss the kids, looking forward to hearing their voices and adventures again, and of course their choice of music.
