Technorati

Jason Kottke says it better than I can.

Technorati's off my blog.

It's been useless anyway for the past nine months.

Dear David Sifry,

Is anybody home? [technorati.com #14196] I seriously thought that perhaps Technorati got hit or flooded by Hurricane Katrina.

I attempted to report blog claim errors and other issues with my Technorati account back in August...

On Aug 24, 2005, at 8:56 AM, Technorati Support via RT responded in part with this automated email:

If you don't hear back from anyone within a few business days then please let us know and be sure to include the subject and ticket number, "[Support] Blog Claim Error #14196], " in your note so we may properly track your issue and its progress.

I follwed their instructions and followed up in a few days. Nothing.

I again followed up a couple of days later. Nothing.

I personally manage dozens of blogs for many of my consultancy markets and clients. I also teach internet marketing and blogging. I've always touted Technorati, but that came to a halt YESTERDAY.

I cannot promote an empty parking lot as if it is something of value.

I've watched over the past weeks as content rich blogs have disappeared from Technorati results and spam blogs seem invulnerably present. I've also documented certain TAGS that previously had valid results and now show ZERO results.

Will David Sifry contact me? [technorati.com #14196]

Keep posted and I'll let you know (I'm not holding my breath).
