He gave it to me, which I stupidly hung in a window for years, the autographs faded. In the late eighties I gave it to a fledgling metal head, I passed the torch.
I wanna know how Cream sounded.

was it live or memorex? i read a review of the cream show that complained that literally every show is the same, tune for tune, note for note. and worse, that every show is the exact same show as on the live show DVD they just released. was that the case at MSG?

Wow is the only word that can describe last night. I've seen Clapton before, but jesus, I don't think I remember him being that good when he played solo. I was also amazed that Bruce's voice still sounds ok. I think 'Rollin' and Tumblin' was my favourite for the night.
Amazing night indeed!

I saw them Wed nite. They were good but a little rigid, I thought. I almost didn't go...$100 bucks for nosebleed seats behind the stage just doesn't compare with having seen them at the Cafe Wha in '68 for about $3.50 per. (That's my best guess...I don't remember too much from those daze :-)

does anyone really pay attention anymore, or simply react. the cream at msg was rather amazing ... not so much eric, who was clearly off his game, but the wonder of one of the best rhythm sections ever: ginger and jack. jack was angry and ready and played his ass off, consistantly putting eric off balance and challenging ginger throughout ... ginger was in great form, but not really listening that closely, but his solo ... whew. hey, these "geezers" can play circles around any pop band i can think of. ginger played for two hours solid and never broke a sweat ... and he's pushing 70. jack was gracious and thankful just to be there.
listen ... it's been there all along.

Seen Cream small and large venues when I was in late teens. The band was always at the top of their game,even over Hendrix. Seeing EC over the years you expect his godly talent, but this MSG concert I wasn't expecting 37 years ago and they blew my F'n sox off.
Great show. And yes we all do and hopefully get older

mp3 bootlegs of all 3 MSG shows are available if you guys are interested, not for sale I hasten to add! Dont buy from e-bay those sellers "suck" as you quaint Colonials might say.
Tuesdays gig was fantastic, though there are moments of delight on each night.
At their best they knock spots off anyone playing today, tight, melodic, snarling, jazzy, blues at its best.
Sometimes they are just excellent but when they take off, its the best!
Let me know if you want details of the boots.
