The Magic Numbers
The Gotham Gal is a fan of Paste Magazine.
They have this column called Four To Watch and this month they featured The Magic Numbers.
So we played the record on Rhapsody last weekend.
And we haven't stopped playing it since then.
Maybe the music goes with the non stop rain we've had since last weekend.
Who knows?
But in any case, its time I shared our secret.
This is a great debut record. I almost don't want to describe it.
I will say that its pretty mellow, relaxing, great chill out music. Amazing melodies.
Just get the record and listen to it.

Fred,
As usual your posting is spot-on. Inbound links shouldn't determine weblog value. IMO, a combination of number of reader subscriptions and comments would be a better way to determine value for weblogs. I judge weblogs by number of comments made. If a blogger consistently has 0 comments they are either talking to themselves or looking to provide fresh content so the bots keep coming back.

Fred,
Once again your musical tastes impress me.
I think I've found almost as much new, great music through you as I have through KCRW. I first heard about The Magic Numbers on the 8/18 KCRW Music Exchange podcast w/ Steve Lamacq so it was nice to see that you posted on the band as well. Thanks and keep the good music coming.
P.S.- I really like the Flaming Lips' "Ambulance Driver" song from the latest Positively 10th Street. Although the video is a little weird, that doesn’t detract from it still being a great song.

Why don't you stream Virgin Radio? They play these guys all the time (along with other great music):
