What Will The Stones Play?
So the boys will be playing the halftime show on Sunday.
I will be glued to the TV, hoping that Keith rips off Mick's shirt and exposes some breast.
Here's what I think they will play:
Rough Justice
Can't Always Get What You Want (or maybe Brown Sugar)
Satisfaction
Here's what I wish they'd play
Oh No, Not You Again (got to play at least one song from the new record)
Tumbling Dice
Gimmie Shelter
Anyone else want to offer their predictions and hopes?
UPDATE: Jay suggests they play a Motown tune being in Detroit, and my gut says he's right. Look for Aint To Proud To Beg although I'd love to see them play Just My Imagination.

Here is what they WILL play
"Start Me Up"
"It's Only Rock N' Roll"
"Satisfaction"
(maybe a Tumbling dice for the gamblers)
Betcha, its 2 out of 4.
Here is MY DREAM SHOW Super Bowl: (just to suffice the masses and satisfy the lovers)
"Jumping Jack Flash"
"Cant you hear me Knocking" or a slower type "Angie"
"Sympathy"
"YCAGWYW"

Never going to happen, but my fantasy setlist:
Loving Cup
Sway
Monkey Man
Networks would hate it; Stones fans would dig it.

Well, even Paul McCartney tried to push the envelope a little last year - one of the songs he picked was "Get Back", which features the line "JoJo left his home in Tuscon, AZ for some California grass." So you gotta figure the Stones will have to do something a little subversive.
So here's what I think they'll play:
Start Me Up (and they'll sing "dead man come") or Brown Sugar
Rough Justice
Satisfaction
Here's what I'd like them to play
Honky Tonk Woman
Wild Horses
Waiting on a Friend
It would be nice if they played something Motown. I think they've been playing "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" on this tour. That wouldn't surprise me either.

I'm with Josh - 'Symapthy for the Devil' gets my vote ...

It's a Superbowl show, and they are always so contrived, but it is the stones and the possibilities are endless. I think you are correct, they have to play a new song, and rough justice is my bet. They will have to play Satisfaction, but the third song, that’s the kicker, could be any of the song picked in the comments.
I like what Jay says about Detroit. The Stones do love the Temptations; don't forget they did My Girl as well. Maybe its time for a new cover, Ball of Confusion, I Can't Get next To You, or Get Ready.

So, as an homage to Motown, Aretha Franklin is singing the Star Spangled Banner before the game. If it takes another 20-plus years for the Super Bowl to get back to Detroit, who would sing it then? White Stripes? Eminem?
