MP3 of the Week

I don't usually make a song from my Nuggets pick my MP3 of the Week.

But since I picked the Violent Femmes debut record as my Nuggets pick last week, I've been listening to the recod almost non-stop.

My favorite track on the record is Gone Daddy Gone and its my MP3 of the Week.

Virtual Fred is kind of creepy.

Maybe he could only talk when you click on him?

My personal favorite is Children of the Revolution from The Blind Leading The Naked,

You can bump and grind.
Have a good time.
You can twist and shout.
Let it all hang out,
but you won't fool the children of the revolution.

Thanks for reminding me of the Violent Femmes first album, I dug it up after reading the post and have been listening to it ever since. I was still in high school when it was released and I remember that it was playing everywhere back then.

Although "Gone Daddy Gone" is a good track for me "Kiss Off" was the hit of that album. The other reason I loved this record is because it is so under-produced.

The following year Billy Bragg came out with another under-produced classic which was "Brewing Up with Billy Bragg". I've been listening to this one too.

I love virtual Fred, at least after my initial shock and somewhat embarrasment from broadcasting Fred throughout my workroom.

I think Virtual fred should lip synch to the mp3 of the week.

Stumbled on a band recently I thought you might like. Sun Kil Moon. Check em out if you haven't heard them. Great stuff.

I saw them do that live at the Calgary Folk Festival a few years ago -- and a bunch of others, including American Music and Freak Magnet. Awesome.
