Avatar Update
I've gotten a ton of feedback on my avatar, some of it critical.
The main complaints were the audio which I turned off the first day it was up and the generally creepy nature of the thing which I am not going to change right now because I like it.
The audio is back, but this time with a play button. If you want to hear the avatar speak, hit the play button.
I've also figured out how to change the background which reflects the fact that I am in Portland Oregon today.
I intend to keep playing with this thing and hopefully putting it elsewhere on the web like my myspace page, my last.fm page, my linked in page, etc. I'll let you know how it goes.

lol yeah it is a novelty addin. Though I think it's like all the old "lets add this to our webpage cos it looks cool". e.g. you wouldn't put lots of flashing animations, automatically playing music, popups etc onto a professional webpage these days.
So I think these things will just go the same way. Just shove a headshot pic of yourself... it'll look a lot less "creepy" :)
cheers

I love it. I think the play button was a good idea. Of course when I get mine, he'll insult you and make you wish you hadn't gone to my blog in the first place - but hey - that's just me.

I think they are weird, scary-creepy and borderline annoying.
However, I always click on those Site Pal things. It's pretty impressive for something that you can customize in just a few minutes.
I am going to have the players on my hockey team (I coach 8th graders) check it out and get some feedback. I have a feeling that they'd dig this stuff.

Creepy is good. Keep it up there. How can I make one for free?

Totally creepy...especially the way they captured your bangs.

Creepy... but interesting. Funny, I randomly ran across another Sitepal over at Ridgecrest Weather Services web site. It reads you their local weather forecast.

Doesn't work for me - seems expensive too. Blogs are to hear your real personality so a comic drawing takes something away.
