MP3 of the Week
Jack White is one of the most talented musicians putting out new music these days. I love the White Stripes and the record he made with Loretta Lynn, Van Lear Rose, was on my list of the ten best records of 2004.
He's got another collaboration record coming out, this time with pop music whiz Brendan Benson. They call themselves The Raconteurs and their record is called Broken Boy Soldiers.
The single, Steady As She Goes, is great and it's playing on the radio and you can listen to it on Rhapsody or buy it on iTunes.
Like all Jack White records, there is a serious Led Zeppelin influence on this record which is just fine with me. And this song, Blue Veins, is no exception.
I hope you like it.

Jack White has no fear. It'll be interesting to watch his career - all ready he's got carte blanche, and he's very comfortable with making drastic choices during the record making process. I'd say he's alot like Neil in many respects.

They couldnt use the band name raconteurs in australia (after their lawyer tried to do a cheap anonymous buy out of name) from another band of same name. so they are called the saboteurs here. i really like jack white though ! Excerpt below :
RAKE OFF!
Jack White’s new band The Raconteurs have to call themselves The Saboteurs in Australia because a Queensland band have registered the name. The Raconteurs (QLD) member Dave told Triple J’s breakfast team Jay & The Doctor that they received a letter from a lawyer about 12 months ago, asking if they could surrender their name for a small sum of money. Dave tried for a much larger sum, and the next time they heard from the lawyer, they’d changed their name and told them to “lick it”.
