Glad you like it and I'm happy I was one of the people who mentioned it Sunday. I >LOVE< that station. If I was limited to one music stream, RP would be it.

The community features are very cool. not just bulletin boards. Want to share a tune? upload it to the Listener Review Channel, regulars vote on whether to add it to the playlist (although Bill and Rebecca have final say).

I felt it was necessary to apologize about the unrelated Google Calendar trackback above. Looks like performancing does not clear the trackback url box after a post.

Ahhh... the RP. It doesn't get any better. Our office sometimes strays from Radio Paradise to find other music alternatives, but we always come back to good ol' Radio Paradise.

I suspect the same will happen for everyone else.

So, I have been listening to RP since 2003. Its one of the most eclectic stations out there. The only problem is after listening to it for a year, I kinda got bored. It became too soft and mellow for me. So be careful - dont overdo it!

That playlist does look good, but is it really paradise? To me, Paradise is my Ipod or whatever MP3 weapon you use. You see, no matter what, just about any radio station, be it online or terrestrial, is going to give you something you don't want to hear - more than once a day. With your own MP3 player, YOU set the playlist. I'm not stating anything that's not already ridiculously obvious, but even the BEST internet radio stations I've heard, and I've heard a lot of them, aren't as good as my own personal playlist is. Because I don't even have to think about it - I just KNOW I won't be "presented" with songs I don't want to hear.

Now, I'm also a total music dork. There are certainly a set of people, a majority in fact, who don't mind being "presented" with music. For me, it's out of the question. So I'm not by any means saying Radio Paradise is bad. Just saying that my taste is my taste and anyone "presenting" music to me will simply never perfect it. I'm the only one who can do that.

* I like RP when I've OD'd on my music collection and need to listen to something else ... over a few years now
* I've found that it is in a similar vein to Fred's hot list of tunes
* I also really really like eMusic ... subscribing to it has reduced my RP listening time by a huge margin.

Looks like paradise... except, of course, for the Squeeze and They Might Be Giants :)

Fred,

In my humble opinion the best radio station in the country is Minnesota Public Radio - The Current. Check it out http://minnesota.publicradio.org/

i'll have to check out the community features. sounds cool.

Radio Paradise sounds good...radioio has been providing a similar offering for a while...with more specific genre selections. I have also enjoyed WWW.KTBG.FM out of the KC area...although a bit mainstream at times; they play songs that WFUV will play about 3 months prior to FUV

Ok ok ok ok... I'm hooked.

This is a GREAT radio station!

RP is, by far, one of the best stations ever.
