MP3 of the Week
I got an advance copy of the new Tom Petty record, Highway Companion, last week. The record comes out next week, on July 25th.
It's a really solid record, in the vein of his last solo record, Wildflowers, which came out 12 years ago. I've only listened to it a few times, so I can't yet say it's as good as Wildflowers, but I will say that its really good. If you are a Tom Petty fan, you should get the record for sure. You can pre-order it on Amazon.
But if you aren't sure, then maybe a song will help. This is the first track and possibly the single, called Saving Grace. I hope you like it.
I'm listening to the vinyl version of 1979's "Damn The Torpedoes" right now. "Highway Companion" almost sounds like the sequel to DTP.
