The Gotham Gals Drops Rhapsody In Favor of The Hype Machine

We've been Rhapsody fans for years.

But this summer the Gotham Gal has given up on Rhapsody.

She finds better music on The Hype Machine.

It just proves that aggregating music blogs (letting the people create a music service) is better than trying to work with the record labels to create one.

I am not yet ready to give up on Rhapsody and I have high hopes for the new web services stuff, but I do find myself going to The Hype Machine first when I hear of a new band.

I couldn't agree more and have given up on buying CDs or using the iTunes store. Over last couple of years, I've noticed my music discovery habits change from the more traditional internet channels to blogs and mp3 blog aggregators. Though I didn't mention it last week, I wanted to thank you for all of the great music that you've introduced me to. I've probably been turned on to more new music through this blog than through any other single source.

The other great mp3 blog aggregator is Elbo.ws.
