John On Steve (and Apple and iPhone)

070625news_jobs John Heilemann's big piece on Steve Jobs, Apple, and iPhone is in this week's NY Magazine. I don't know if Apple has peaked, that's a tough call, but I do think John is raising the bear case on AAPL to a new level.

I'm quoted briefly, singing the praises of streaming music, which will be no surprise to anyone who reads this blog frequently.

I am also long AAPL and not yet convinced to sell the stock.

Fred: Completely agree. I'm not sure if the iPhone v1 is going to be a huge success (still suspect of the lack of keyboard) but if any one is going to come out with the category-killing phone, a safe bet IMO opinion is Apple. Notice there isn't much banter anymore about "what is Apple doing in the phone market?" That questioning has come and gone.

I'm still betting on Jobs. I'm just sitting and waiting for the stock to split again.

Fred,

Can you email me directly? I am the CEO / Founder of Fred - the bottled water that launched last fall. I saw your name again in the iGod article [first saw you on your VC Blog and responded to a post at one point]. I have a VC question for you - but would like to speak with you personally. We are based here in Brooklyn - I assume you are in the city. Anyhow, email me with your contact info and I will email back / call. Thanks. Adam Gayner
