Kings of Leon At Roseland

  Kings of Leon
Originally uploaded by Kyle Dean Reinford.

Caleb's a rock star in the grand tradition of charismatic frontmen. He looks the part, acts the part, and is the part and does it without trying.

It stems from the songs and the delivery of them by Caleb and his Followhill brethren.

These guys are the direct descendants of the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, and all of classic rock, and their music comes from the same place, the roots music of the american south amplified by testosterone, electric guitars, and amps turned up high.

I saw them them for the first time last night. I sure hope it won't be the last. And I fear they are headed for the arena circuit. These guys are the real deal.

Here's a video of them from 2004 on their home court at Bonaroo doing Trani (one of my favorite numbers last night).

Enjoy.

Cool! I've a fan of their music for a while now, put on their trail by a record store owner (that's something digital music will have a hard time compensating for, even last.fm etc.), but so far I seem to miss their concerts, whenever they've been around...

I thought you would have seen them at ACL last year. I think they were the last band we watched Saturday night before the hour long walk to the bus.

You are totally right about them being the 'real deal'. I was at this show last night and it was AMAZING!!!

I'll be the judge of THAT!

Sorry, I just love saying that.

Okay, I'm back. Mohammad, I'll amend your statement for you.

Excellent audio and video quality - as far as streaming media goes.

What passes for excellent on the web is still vastly sub-standard. In a word, it sucks ass. Oh, that's two words, sorry.

Great band though Fred.
